The Black Box and Network Migrations (by Tony Fortunato)
February 02, 2011
This was a story I told about a client who was terrified to unplug an old legacy async terminal server.
The odd part was, it wasn't physically connected, the cables were cut and the Fault Light was on. They even saw me take out all the cards and admitted the terminals are long gone.
The team still insisted that we leave the box on until the end of the quarter, "Just in case".
